A souvenir program published on the occasion of a trade and cultural fair that ran alongside the 1936 Olympic games in Berlin. Designed by Bauhaus teacher Herbert Bayer (who was not a Nazi and emigrated to the U.S. in 1938), it incorporates Soviet style photomontage in which, as Parr and Badger explain, "New Vision meets Constructivist collage. The most renowned image depicts the dynamism of the electricity industry, as well a montage showing a 'Triumph of the Will' type gathering, without unduly emphasizing the Nazi element. As this was a cultural event, and the publication was intended for an overseas as well as a domestic market, it was only circumspect to underplay the more belligerent face of National Socialism."
